Sails

Private dining

Private dining on the foreshore

Sails takes events three ways. The building can be hired in full, which is 92 people at tables or 120 on their feet, with the water along the front of it and boats working through the bay all afternoon. Banquet and cocktail formats both suit the room.

One side of the restaurant can be taken on its own for 35 seated. The main dining room keeps going next door, and it works for a long lunch or a dinner that has no need of the whole building.

The private dining room is the smallest of the three, seating 20 or holding 30 standing, set away from the main floor with softer finishes and the water still in view. The events team goes through menus, timings and the run of the day before anyone arrives, and the group menus start at 11 guests.

Group dining

For groups of 11-25, we offer the choice between our 3 course set menu or a 6 course shared tasting menu.

Please note, our menus are subject to change without notice. A 10% gratuity applies to the final bill, and a 10% weekend surcharge applies on Saturdays & Sundays.

92 seated · 120 cocktail

Sails can be taken whole — 92 seated, 120 for a cocktail party — on the Lavender Bay foreshore, with the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge across the water. Seasonal Australian menus, and a considered wine list.

One side of the restaurant can be reserved on its own for 35, which keeps the main room's buzz next door. The private dining room is smaller again: 20 seated, 30 standing, with the water still in view.
